Last week I played 18 at Avalon Country Club in New Jersey.

My uncle brought along a friend named Bob. Mid-seventies. Retired from Philly.

Somewhere on the front nine, I asked Bob what he did for a living.

He was a retired architect. Project manager too.

He developed big retail builds across the state, the kind that take years and hundreds of people.

Bob went on about his big wins in business, bad partnerships, zoning boards, his family, his philosophies, and how long the rough around the greens were.

By the time we hit the back nine, I knew a ton about Bob and picked up a few lessons on business and life.

Then it hit me.

Every golfer you ever play with has this.

A story. A lesson. A whole life worth hearing about.

I want to hear as many of those stories as I can.

I want to learn as many of those lessons as I can.

That's why The Long Game exists.

Two formats. One idea.

The Long Game is about how golf and life intersect - the businesses, the people, and the lessons.

It plays out two ways.

Brand Teardowns

Strategic breakdowns of the people who have made Golf their business. Like Ghost Golf, and how they win by being unapologetically loud. Or Bombtech on how to build a $12M operation by ignoring the DTC playbook.

The Back Nine. I play 9 holes with real people and share their stories.

If you're a golfer who pays attention to how things work, this is for you.

If you're not a golfer but you love a long conversation that teaches you something real, this might be too.

Reply to any issue. Tell me what you think.

Tell me who I should be playing golf with.

Glad you're here.
